The nearly transparent stone onyx has a glossy, polished surface and is composed of silica. This mineral belongs to the group known as agates which are semi-precious stones. This stone can vary significantly in different shades of brown, green, yellow, orange, and white. It’s found mostly inside caves, where it forms over time when cold carbonated spring water flows slowly through layers.
